This is a list of the current groups/activities we are running. For dates, visit our dates page or follow our Social Media pages.
LGBTQ+ Trans inclusive Swimming sessions (Kempston pool)
Rainbow Bedfordshire set up the first trans-inclusive swim sessions in the East of England in 2022
In addition to those weekday sessions, we are delighted to now launch some brand new private hire swims, at Kempston Pool once a month, on a Saturday afternoon.
Anyone who is under 16 must bring a responsible adult with them
These sessions last one hour and are £3 each.
We ask anyone who wishes to attend any of our swimming groups to read the guidance provided, and to complete the registration agreement. This will be reviewed by our team. You will not be able to attend for your first swim unless you do so. The links to these are below. This is to keep the space safe for all.

LGBTQ+ Swimming session (Trinity arts and leisure pool)

We have our swimming sessions twice a month at the Trinity Arts and leisure pool on Bromham road, Bedford.

LGBTQ+ Community Sing/music group
A *brand new* addition to our activities.
These relaxed, friendly singing/music sessions are a great way to have fun and bond
with new friends and old. No previous experience or even natural ability needed to
join our singing group (This is not X Factor, there are no ‘Judges’ houses’). If you play a instrument please fill free to bring it along.
This group meets at 6:15 pm till 7:15 pm at St Cuthberts Hall, Newnham St, Bedford MK40 3JR
LGBTQ+ Friday social
Come and join us for a cuppa.
We host a regular social meet-up at the Green Earth café at 13 St Paul's Square
every fortnight at 1 pm.
This is a great space and time to meet up and talk with like-minded people

Poetry nights - 16s+
Whether poetry is your passion, or something completely new, join us for our monthly poetry group. With local poet Katie O’Pray, we will look at a poem together and discuss our thoughts before moving onto a prompt inspired by the piece. After some individual writing time, you will have the opportunity to share - if you’d like to!
Sessions are free, with discounted coffee and cake available to purchase on the night.
These sessions are on the Last Thursday of the Month 5:30 pm - 7 pm

Trans and non-binary sports sessions
These sports sessions are for those who are trans and non-binary. You don't need to be good at sports you just need to ready to have fun. The sessions are fortnightly on a Wednesday 5:30pm - 6:30 pm at Bedford International Athletic Stadium, Barkers Lane, Bedford MK41 9SB and they are free of charge.

LGBTQ+ online social group
LGBTQ+ Online social group runs on the last Monday of the month from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. This is relaxed group where we come together and have a chat.

LGBTQ+ Film night
At the LGBTQ+ Film night we meet up at the Green Earth Cafe to watch LGBTQ+ themed films.
There will be time to have a break, a chat and there are refreshments available to buy.

Support group for parents/carers of Trans people
If you are a parent/guardian/carer of a trans person and need to talk to others, gain some information. come along to our support group
These groups are run at Gallones ice cream parlour, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Clothing donations for Queer Prom
We are looking for your Gladrags that you are no longer wearing.
These can be dresses, shirts, waistcoats, suits or anything that has has that sparkle.
We will be hosting a Queer Prom in Sept 2025! Any donated party clothes will be available at the clothing swap/shop later in the year
Clothing swap/shop
Throughout the year, we have a Trans, Non-binary and Gender nonconforming Clothing swap/shop where you can come along and pick out a new outfit.
Watch our events page to see when our next one is.
You can either bring some items along to swap or you can "shop" (items are Free or at a low cost)
Each person will be given tokens to exchange for items. if you have donated items to the swap you will receive an extra token.
If you need clothes, toiletries, makeup, or a binder, please get in touch. We may be able to help you.
We are still looking for donation of clothing, hats, accessories, shoes, bags, wigs, toiletries and binders.

Craft workshops
Throughout the year we do Craft workshops with different themes
We will advertise these workshops on our social media pages, Eventbrite and our event page.
Workshops are 2 pm - 3:30 pm at Higgins Art Gallery and Museum
